Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-30
This Refund Policy explains how subscription payments, the discounted first month, usage credits (Credits Packs), cancellations, data retention, and refund requests are handled for dev0 services. It applies together with our Terms of Service.
1. Billing and Merchant of Record
- Paid checkout for dev0 is processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record for the transaction. Paddle handles payment processing, sales tax / VAT, and invoicing.
- Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Checkout / Buyer Terms. Where Paddle's buyer protections grant you rights beyond this policy, those rights apply.
- Prices are shown in USD; applicable taxes are calculated at checkout. dev0 charges fixed plan and Credits Pack prices — we do not bill per GB or per AI token.
2. Discounted First Month
- dev0 has no free tier. Pro is offered at a discounted $15 for the first month (then $30/month) so you can evaluate paid features before paying full price. Requiring a paid card on file is an abuse-control measure: it keeps dev0 from being used as free, anonymous infrastructure (e.g. functions/sites abused as outbound-fetch proxies or backlink farms), which protects service quality for paying customers.
- The introductory first-month charge is consumable and generally non-refundable. Because the discounted month lets you validate dev0 before committing, paid subscription fees are generally non-refundable as described below.
- Data retention for cancelled intro accounts: if you cancel during the first (intro) month and do not convert to a paying subscription, your projects, sites, functions, stored files, and account data are permanently deleted approximately one month after the purchase date (at the end of the paid period). Export anything you want to keep before then.
3. Subscription Fees
- Plan fees are charged according to your selected plan and billing cycle (monthly or annual). Unless required by law or by Paddle's Buyer Terms, fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started.
- Canceling a subscription stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund the current period, and access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Annual subscriptions are charged upfront for the term and are non-refundable; cancellation stops the next annual renewal.
- Cancellation or downgrade can reduce plan limits. Resources above the new tier may become read-only (archived) after the grace period shown in the product, and may be pruned after the retention window. Re-upgrading before the archive date restores access without data loss.
4. Usage Credits, Credits Packs & Auto-Refill
- Credits Packs and usage credits are prepaid, consumable digital goods. Once a Pack is purchased or credits are granted, they are non-refundable, have no cash value, and are non-transferable.
- Usage credits do not roll over — the balance resets at the start of each billing period.
- On-demand mode and auto-refill are opt-in per workspace. With auto-refill enabled, a one-time Pack may be purchased automatically to keep work running; those one-time purchases are also non-refundable once the credits are granted.
5. BYOK and Third-Party Costs
- dev0 is BYOK (bring your own keys). AI/model and external API usage made with your keys is billed by your chosen provider directly.
- These third-party costs are outside dev0's billing scope and are not refundable by dev0.
6. Exceptional Cases
- We may review and approve refunds for duplicate charges, clear billing errors, incorrect Credits Pack / seat quantity, or proven technical provisioning failures attributable to dev0.
- Approved exceptions are issued at our reasonable discretion and in accordance with applicable law and Paddle's processes.
7. Your Statutory Rights
- Nothing in this policy limits mandatory consumer-protection or withdrawal rights that apply in your country of residence.
- For digital services, any statutory right of withdrawal (for example, in the EU/UK) is handled at Paddle checkout. By starting a subscription or consuming usage credits immediately, you request immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that the withdrawal right may no longer apply once the service has been provided.
8. How to Request a Refund Review
- Submit your request through the official dev0 contact channel. You may also contact Paddle for transaction-level requests as the Merchant of Record.
- Include your account email, the Paddle invoice / reference, the charge date, and the reason for review.
9. Chargebacks
- If you believe a charge is unauthorized, contact us first so we can investigate quickly.
- Abusive or fraudulent chargebacks may result in suspension of service access.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The latest published version applies to new billing periods after the update date.
